Racers found to be breaking the global rules outlined here will receive a punishment based on the severity of the infraction. Minor warnings can be upgraded to Medium and Major, depending on circumstances. In general, if someone has received two infractions at one level, the next one at that level will be upgraded a tier.

Minor infractions will typically only result in a warning. Medium infractions will result in a race DQ, and Major infractions will result in a tournament ban with a possible racetime.gg category ban with a length determined by the current racemod team depending on how the Major infraction is reached.

In addition, tournaments may also adapt stricter rules than what is listed below for their tournament. For example, Tournament Organizers of any event may indicate that a minor infraction will result in a Race DQ instead of a warning. This may occur in any phase of the tournament, and does not need to be the same for each phase (ie, only upgraded in brackets, top 8, etc). However, this MUST be clearly outline in the tournament rules document for the event. Any penalties upgraded in this way are only in effect for that specific tournament (ie if you are DQ'd for missing emulator settings for a tournament instead of a warning, this will not be counted as your first medium infraction for other events)

The racemod team will keep track of all accrued penalties for each individual racer. These will reset with each standard season, starting with Qualifier #1 of the main Standard Tournament (or a similar time if qualifiers cease to exist for any reason).

Minor Infractions - Warning

  • Missing Settings for the respective Emulator
  • Missing Audio (<20 minutes of race)
  • Missing Video (<2 minutes of race)
  • Chat Influence (Given the racer / chat moderator deals with the situation in a timely manor)

Medium Infractions - Individual Race DQ

  • Accrued 3 Minor Infractions
  • Unpreserved Cutoff in races requiring delay (>2 minutes of lost time)
  • Appearing in another racer's / restreamer's stream (If an acceptable explanation is provided)
  • Missing Audio (>20 minutes of race)
  • Missing Video (>2 minutes of race)
  • Chat Influence (If left unchecked)
  • Unapproved Tech (Clipping, HESS, otherwise unallowed tech based on individual race)

Major Infractions - Tournament DQ / Possible RT.GG Ban

  • Accrued 3 Medium Infractions
  • Appearing in another racer's / restreamer's stream (Without acceptable explanation)
  • Otherwise gaining seed information (Including but not limited to; having a second person playing the seed, reverse engineering spoiler logs, etc...)
  • Modified Setup (Through use of speed-ups or unapproved settings for the emulator used)
  • Multiple RT.GG accounts without prior racemod approval
  • Other forms of ban evasion
